THE IMPULSE EXCITATION TECHNIQUE
The Resonant Frequency and Damping Analyser is based on the impulse excitation
technique. The sample is put to vibration using an impulse excitation.
A microphone or pieze-electric transducer is used to pick up the vibrations.
Most vibrations are complex and built up with different frequencies. The
electrical signal of the transducer is adapted and amplified so the software
cancalculate the different resonant frequencies with their damping loss
factor.

The Resonant Frequency and Damping Analyser is
based on the impulse excitation technique. This impulse excitation technique
is essentially non-destructive, can be applied at high temperatures and
in aggressive atmospheres, and requires no special shape for the test
specimen.
